Abstract – NEW INSIGHTS IN THE DIAGNOSTICS AND TREATMENT OF FETAL CARDIAC ARRHYTHMIA
Fetal cardiac arrhythmia represents a pathology that can affect seriously the development of the fetus and neonate if not identified and treat adequately. It can appear in 1-2 I of pregnancies and can lead to fetal congestive heart failure, non-immune hydrops fetalis or even fetal death. The echocardiography is the dominant modality for the assessment of fetal arrhythmias and also to monitor fetal response to therapy, with the two major methods: M-mode and Doppler mode of the intracardiac flows.
The results of the treatment depend on a good diagnostic, a good knowledge of the physiology of the fetal cardiac function, an appropriate choice of the antiarrhythmic drugs and the association / or not, of another cardiac or extracardiac fetal malformation.
Key words: fetal arrhythmia
